DRESS CODE
The LISD dress code specified in the campus handbook is in effect for the Alternative campus, but with some additional features. The following dress code is to be followed by all students assigned to the Alternative Campus. All students will be dressed according to the dress code from the time they board the school bus or leave home until they leave the bus or return home at the end of the school day.
- No SHORTS of any kind will be worn. Students will wear long legged NAVY, KHAKI, or BLACK solid only (TWILL, DOCKERS AND DICKIE) type pants. NO JEANS, NYLON, WARM-UPS, WINDSUITS OR DRAW STRING STYLE ALLOWED. Underwear should not be visible. Pants shall be properly sized. NO PANTS WITH EXTRA LARGE POCKETS. NO CARPRI PANTS. SAGGING PANTS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
- All high school students in the 9th – 12th grade will wear a gray shirt with sleeves (oxford type, blouse, or t-shirt is acceptable). No words, designs or other colors are to be visible on either side of the shirt of any kind. Blouses and shirts must be tucked into pants or shirt.
- All middle school students in the 6th – 8th grade will wear solid color polo/style shirts with long legged black, navy, khaki or tan pants. This dress code is for the MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY.
- Anything that depicts or suggests association with a gang shall not be brought or worn at school.
- Hats, caps or other head covering are not to be brought or worn at school.
- Shaving will be strictly enforced for al students with facial hair of any kind, other than a neat mustache. Should a skin condition restrict shaving, a physician’s note stating the condition and its restrictions will be required. Students that refuse to shave will be sent home.
- Students are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and for the air conditioning level of the building. It is suggested that they bring a sweatshirt no hood, no zipper, no pockets. WHITE OR GRAY ONLY. Students who wear sweatshirts to school must keep all other shirts or under shirts tucked in.
- No heavy outer coats will be allowed in the classroom. Coats will be hung in the cafeteria throughout the day and picked up after school.
- Purses, wallets, combs brushes or make-up, etc. are not allowed at school.
- No jewelry of any kind will be allowed (Male or Female) this includes grills that cover the teeth.
- Students shall not bring bags or back packs to school.
- Students must wear appropriate footwear. If tennis, athletic or lace up shoes is worn, laces must be laced and tied at all time. (No flip-flop or bare sandals) All Velcro must be strapped properly. The colors blue and red are strictly prohibited as a part of the dress code.
- Any clothing, hairdo, or accessory that the principal deems inappropriate will not be permitted.
- Student may not bring cell phones to school. They will be taken up and a $15.00 charge will be assessed to the parents for the return of the phone.
- Students pant pockets, socks, and shoes will be checked daily before school for any items that are not permitted on campus while the student is attending ACE.
For safety reasons students will not be allowed on campus after 7:30 a.m. This will result in an unexcused absence.
I have read and understand the dress code and agree to abide by it. I understand that my child will not be able to attend school if he/she is in violation of the Alternative Campus dress code.
